Key Challenges
Demand — More pressure to meet growing community needs
With a system under pressure to serve more than 23,000 people each year with a widevariety of medical needs, The Centers and Circle Health needed a flexible and efficient systemto support the onboarding, credentialing, and privileging of providers across an array ofspecialties.
Excessive Paperwork — Paper-based credentialing and privileging processes led to delays
The Centers and Circle Health managed their credentialing, privileging, and enrollmentprocess with a mix of paper and excel spreadsheets. Data was spread out over multiplelocations and often had to be manually scanned to be shared. Reports had to be manuallycreated for each individual request.
Meeting Industry Requirements — A site visit and accreditation survey meant the need forimprovement
As an FQHC that receives funding from the HRSA Health Center Program, Circle Health mustmeet a stringent set of requirements to remain compliant. A pending HRSA site visit and aCARF accreditation survey for their behavioral health team meant the organization needed toquickly identify and implement a credentialing, privileging, and enrollment that would enablethem to pass with flying colors.
"I was determined to move from a paper systemto an electronic one. I had to have the softwareimplemented by the second week of Septemberin preparation for the HRSA site visit and CARFsurvey. In the end, I was able to complete themajority of the reviews using CredentialStream. The reviewers were extremely impressed with thesoftware as well as how well-maintained the fileswere. We passed the visit and the survey."

Solution Selection Process
With an HRSA site visit and a CARF accreditation survey for their behavioral health team onthe horizon, The Centers and Circle Health needed to find and implement a comprehensiveand scalable solution quickly. The team initially began investigating solutions that managedcredentialing and privileging. When they had the chance to demo CredentialStream and realizedthat a single solution could handle credentialing, privileging, and enrollment, they were sold.
On top of having a multi-functional solution, the team also liked CredentialStream's ability toautofill enrollment applications, as this would tremendously decrease the time it took to completeapplications. Other desirable functionality included the ability to easily run monthly OIG checks(which is required of all FQHCs), store provider data electronically in a single location, andintegrate with EPIC.
The Centers and Circle Health deployed CredentialStream's Apply, Validate, Enroll, Appoint, andPrivilege. From the beginning, they committed to utilizing the solution's platform, content and dataout of the box, with only a few minor modifications and have found that CredentialStream syncsperfectly with their needs.
