AWHONN accreditation & continuing education

The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. AWHONN is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP580. Neonatal Orientation Education Program (NOEP)

Provides comprehensive, evidence-based training to neonatal nurses. Helps reduce risk, improve efficiency, and support positive outcomes.

Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP)

Delivers evidence-based training for perinatal nurses. Supports risk reduction, staff efficiency, and consistent high-quality care—saving time and resources.

Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI)

Prepares staff with triage basics, the nurse’s role, and a systematic approach. Emphasizes equity, bias awareness, and accurate assessment using the five-level acuity index.
